Celebrating Yerba Mate’s Power to Connect People through Tea Sharing Circles and Dialogue
Book Talk & Signing: Yerba Mate: The Drink That Shaped a Nation, by Julia Sarreal 

Time: 1-3 pm, Doors open at 12:30 PM | Program begins at 1:00 PM

Join us, the Museum of the Peace Corps Experience, and the International Peace Museum along with Guayaki Yerba Mate and Friends of Paraguay for a fun-filled event of mate and terere tea drinking circles; an exhibit of gourds/guampas, bombillas and artisenal thermos’; an author book talk and live Paraguayan music and sing-along! 

  • 12:30pm – 1:30pm: guest arrival, mingle, join mate & terere drinking circles, enjoy live Paraguayan guitarist; visit the exhibit table of gourds, thermos and different types of yerba mate; visit the Guayaki booth to sample different types of bottled and canned yerba mate drinks
  • 1:30pm – 2:00pm: Book with author Julia Sarreal on her book, ‘Yerba Mate: The Drink that Shaped a Nation’, focused on Argentina 
  • 2:00pm – 2:15pm: Q&A on yerba mate with author Julia Sarreal 
  • 2:15pm – 2:30pm: Video and/or 2nd speaker
  • 2:30pm – 3:00pm: Paraguayan music and sing-along
