Find your favorite Peace Corps author

The Museum has added to its website a searchable database of over 3,300 books by Peace Corps volunteers, past and present. The goal of Peace Corps Authors: A Bibliography is to build a comprehensive list of all books written by Peace Corps volunteers and staff.

Peace Corps Authors: A Bibliography incorporates the rich bibliography developed by John Coyne (Ethiopia 1962-64) and Marian Haley Beil (Ethiopia 1962-64), founders of Peace Corps Writers and mentors to many authors. Additional records come from the work of Lawrence F. Lihosit (Honduras 1975-1977), Library of Congress, and Washington Research Library Consortium. More titles are added as Museum curators learn of them.

Books can be searched by author, title, or publication date. Most records include information about the publisher. Many entries include the author’s country and dates of service and some offer descriptions of book contents and awards received. Click on the book title or search by author name in the “Library” tab to see the most comprehensive record.

Peace Corps Authors: A Bibliography supports the education and research mission of the Museum.

We want to hear from Peace Corps authors who are not yet included in this bibliography.
