The Museum of the Peace Corps Experience is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary Jayne Cassidy to its Board of Directors, where she will serve as Treasurer.

Mary Jayne served as a Small Business Advisor for a women’s farmers association in Ghana from 2005-2007. Following her service, she worked in finance, operations, system implementation and contracting with Population Services International (PSI) for six years. Her work with PSI took her overseas to Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Nepal. She later accepted a permanent role in Mozambique, where she met her husband, Dionisio.
After PSI, she served for seven years as Director of Management and Operations (Administrative Officer) for Peace Corps Mozambique. In 2023, she joined USAID as a Foreign Service Officer where she worked in Washington DC and Zambia.
Mary Jayne’s first international trip was to Amsterdam during college, traveling with her grandfather, who was 75 at the time. That experience sparked her love for travel. “My grandfather was one of the greatest men I know. As a minister, he preached love and compassion for all people. He was my greatest supporter when I joined the Peace Corps and visited my site when he was 80 years old. My Peace Corps experience was a defining chapter in my life and continues to share who I am today,” Mary Jayne shared.
Mary Jayne holds a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Kennesaw State University. In her spare time, she is an amateur photographer and enjoys live music, hiking, and spending time outdoors. She and Dionisio live in Nashville, Tennessee with their 10 year old triplets, Levi, Amaya & Griffin.
“We are delighted to welcome Mary Jayne to the Board,” said Zack Klim, Executive Director of the Museum of the Peace Corps Experience. “Her global operational leadership, financial expertise, and deep commitment to service will be invaluable as we continue to grow the Museum and advance our mission. With Mary Jayne as Treasurer we are proud to celebrate the first all-female executive committee in our history of our Board of Directors. Mary Jayne and her collaborators bring decades of leadership, operational expertise, and deep ties to the Peace Corps community and we are so lucky to have them.”
